Such traditions that are culturally embedded in the white, male, Afrikaans culture and history, which are the basis of the Nagligte traditions, do not foster inclusion of other groups that must now form the new majority of the SU student body. Wilgenhoffers do not seem to appreciate the negative impact of their culture and rituals on the personal rights of certain individuals. This is because they elevate belonging to the Wilgenhof group above the rights of the individual.

SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES FOR JUDICIAL POSITIONS
On 24 November 2011, the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) published advertisements calling for nominations of interested persons to fill the 14 vacancies in the various superior courts. The closing date for the nominations was initially set for 03 February 2012. It was later extended to 17 February 2012.
Following the closing date, the JSC met on 03 March 2012 and compiled a short list of candidates to be interviewed at its sitting to be held in Cape Town on 16-20 April 2012 as follows:
No candidates were shortlisted as the JSC received an insufficient number of appropriate nominations. The vacant position in the Constitutional Court will be re-advertised in due course.
